4th International Congress of SPF,
the Portuguese Physiological Society

8-9 October 2026

Welcome to Lisboa, to the SPF 2026 International Meeting at Universidade Lusófona.
Held every two years by the Portuguese Physiological Society (SPF), this 4th edition convenes physiologists and life science researchers, educators and students from Portugal and the Portuguese diaspora in Europe and elsewhere. It also intends to reach the lusophone communities sharing the portuguese language and the Iberian space through the Brazilian Society of Physiology (SBF) and the Spanish Society of Physiological Sciences (SECF) as honor participants. The global physiological organizations FEPS and IUPS will also be present, confirming a fruitful alignment of interests and development strategies to foster physiology knowledge and careers in Portugal, in Europe and all over the world.
Join this vibrant, diverse community that carries forward the rich traditions of Portugal and the timeless spirit of exploration we shared with the world. Here, physiological knowledge is celebrated and exchanged in a setting shaped by centuries of discovery, curiosity, and global connection—empowering research that reaches far beyond our borders.
